In winter, you can enjoy a variety of winter sports activities, from downhill skiing and snowboarding to cross-country skiing and sledding. In summer, you can enjoy great hikes in the mountains, mountain biking or go fishing in beautiful rivers and lakes.

Mountain hikes

The area has many beautiful mountain lakes and rivers that are perfect for fishing and picnicking. In addition, you will find several national parks nearby, including Rondane and Jotunheimen, with countless hiking opportunities for all levels. No matter what type of hiking experience you are looking for, you will find it in and near Bjørgesætra.

Cross-country skiing and alpine skiing

Hafjell is an eldorado for alpine enthusiasts. With a height difference of 864 meters and a total of 50 kilometers of alpine trails, Hafjell is one of the largest alpine resorts in Norway. With 29 slopes, with challenges for all levels. In addition, you will find three terrain parks and three KIDS family areas.

The resort has a top station at 1059 meters where you can enjoy spectacular views of the mountain landscape while taking a break in one of the resort's many pleasant restaurants.

Road cycling

Hafjell is a top destination for lift-based cycling in Norway and has an impressive ranking of number 15 on the list of the world's 20 best places for this type of cycling. With 19 slopes and a total of 25 km of trails of varying difficulty, there is something to suit every cyclist. The gondola takes you to a paradise of paths, gravel roads and cycle paths. All in all, Hafjell Bike Park is a cycling paradise that should be experienced.

If you prefer to cycle on roads rather than trails and mountains, the region offers a myriad of options, whether you want to go on a long ride or just get a quick workout. Choose from flat trails or narrow, winding hills.

The Tour of Norway has been held in Lillehammer and Gudbrandsdalen several times, and it is not surprising considering the area's perfect conditions for road cycling.
